Cross Stitch

Anyone who knows me knows that I like to craft.  However I tend to go through phases where I really want to do one type of craft and at the moment I've returned to my cross stitch mania.  When I get excited about something every part of me is immersed in it.  So this week I've been stitching a lot - in particular a large homey/flowery pic I've been working on on and off for the past few years which I plan to give to my parents when it's done.  I'm not sure if that'll happen anytime soon as I've also started thinking about doing smaller pieces and donating them to the charity Stitches of Love and Kindness which I think is a brilliant idea.  Especially as many of the finished pieces will go to people who suffer from something I know a lot about (M.E./C.F.S).  They are small so they won't be as exhausting to finish and I won't end up with tons of little pieces that don't have a home.  I hate making things when I don't know what I'll do with them once they're done, so often I don't start as I don't want to waste my time on something unwanted.  As I'm at Chris' at the moment I'm not sure how much I'll do (other than the big one of course) though his mum has a large stock of stuff that she was all too happy to show me, although her range is much bigger than mine (quilting, toys, clothes, knitting).  So anyway, I'm so psyched at the minute and loving looking at all the designs available (for when I have money and time and I've done all the many hundreds I already have, lol) and thought I'd let you all know that that's what's up with my life right now.

By the way, I'm feeling much more positive, mentally, since I went out yesterday (and I promise pics, probably tomorrow), so yay!

  1. Chris' mum sounds right up your street! There's nothing like meeting another crafty person for inspiration! I'm definitely going to look into stitches of love and kindness because often when I complete a craft project I don't know what to do with it!

  2. I think there are lots of places to donate spare crafted items (just search google).
